Program Summary

This specialization prepares professionals in the field of maintaining human safety and health in the workplace. The specialist in this field possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe working environments free of causes of accidents, injuries or occupational diseases and to preserve the property from the risk of damage and loss. A graduate of this major performs the following tasks:

 

• To protect the human element from injuries resulting from the hazards of the work environment, by preventing them from accidents, injuries and occupational diseases.

• Preserving the elements of the physical element represented in the installations and the equipment and equipment they contain, as a result of accidents.

• Measuring and evaluating pollutants and hazards using the special devices for measurements to identify the types of risks, their levels of concentration and nature, and their effects on workers' health and safety of the work environment.

• Periodic inspection of workplaces to identify hazards and pollutants and the commitment of workers to implement instructions.

• Follow-up and conducting periodic and preventive maintenance of fire protection and explosions as well as ambulance and rescue equipment.

• Provide and implement all occupational safety and health requirements and take the necessary precautions to prevent potential hazards.
