Program Summary

Today, huge amounts of data are produced through internet technologies, social media and through Internet of Things technologies that consist of more than 50 billion smart probes distributed across the Earth. Of these huge data that are currently produced every second, only 5% are analyzed and exploited.

Research that has begun to receive unrivaled attention from research centers and major companies has demonstrated that the use of information and knowledge extracted from these data creates a qualitative leap in the profits of those companies and reduces their costs and increases the degree of effectiveness of decisions taken in an unprecedented way before.

This global trend towards the use of evidence - which has come to be called the oil of the twenty-first century - created a kind of fever and hysteria towards the adoption of smart data analysis techniques by all institutions, regardless of the nature of their work, size or affiliation.
