Forensic Pharmacology and Toxicology

Program Summary

What is forensic science and toxicology?
 Toxicology means "toxicology". Poison can be defined as "any substance that has a harmful effect on the organism." Today, however, these definitions fail to define the limit and content of modern toxicology. The physical, chemical and biological properties of toxins, mechanisms of change and action in the organism, toxic doses, poisoning treatment, detoxification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, risk analysis and standardization for the safe use of toxic substances fall within the scope of modern toxicology.

Within the scope of the Forensic Pharmacology and Toxicology program, measurement and evaluation of toxic substances and drugs in living or dead organisms, including human and biological samples such as urine, saliva, blood, and lessons that will reveal the cause of death as well as the causes and dimensions of damage. In this context, the main principles of forensic medicine, analytical thinking and machine analysis skills, and courses that will encourage research in forensic toxicology and reveal the theoretical thinking framework of forensic science are included in the program.
