Optics is concerned with examining and treating vision problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and strabismus, and the specialization of optics differs from the specialization of eyes and eye surgery

The optometry specialization is one of the required specializations in all hospitals, because it cares for patients after undergoing eye surgeries, and even helps patients to refer to the doctor appropriate to his condition.

It specializes in primary health care for the eye, and an introduction to the health care system for examining, diagnosing and treating vision impairments on therapeutic grounds.
