Program Summary

Pharmacy is: The profession of pharmacist and pharmacology is a science in which to search for drugs and their properties and the composition of drugs and related matters.

The pharmacy profession includes many traditional roles such as installing and dispensing medicines, and also includes providing more modern healthcare-related services, including clinical services, drug reviews, reviews of safety and efficacy of drugs, and provision of drug information. Thus pharmacists are experts in drug therapy and primary health professionals who determine the optimal use of the drug to provide positive health outcomes for patients.

The place where the pharmacist practices his profession (at the first moment) in the pharmacy, chemical store, or drug store. In the United States, Canada, and Arab countries, drug stores not only sell medicines, but also various commodities such as candy, cosmetics, and magazines, as well as light refreshments.

Pharmacists are health workers, trainees, and specialists who perform different roles to ensure better health outcomes for patients through the use of the appropriate medicine.

Some pharmacists are owners of institutions such as owning a pharmacy to practice their profession. Since pharmacists knew the chemical composition of the drug, the method of its effectiveness, its metabolic processes and its physiological effect on the human body in great detail it plays an important role in improving treatment for the patient.

Pharmacists are internationally represented by the World Federation of Pharmacists (FIP). They are represented at the national level by professional organizations in the United Kingdom, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA), the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and the Pharmacists Association of Pakistan (PPS). In some cases, the representative body is responsible for regulation and professional ethics.

In the United States, pharmacy professions specialties have been categorized by the Pharmacy Classification Board into the following: Cardiovascular, Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Therapeutic, Nuclear Energy, Nutrition and Psychiatry.

Pharmacists attend the American Toxicology Council and include other medical professions.
